Piece Pizza
New addition to the good eats list!
My sister recommended this place a while ago. Her, her boyfriend, me and my girlfriend all met there tonight to exchange late birthday presents to Katie (sister) and Remy (girlfriend).
The food and drinks lived up to their reputation.
Our order:
Caprese salad - standard mozzarella and tomatoes. What put it over the top was the delicious vinaigrette dressing and arugula (or lettuce) additions.
Mixed Green salad- also delicious - gorganzola cheese, candied pecans, etc. etc.
Large pizza w/ fresh basil, sauteed mushrooms and green peppers (am I forgetting one?!)
Drinks - Piece's specialties -
I started out with their 'prodigal porter' - chocolate + caramel beer - a little heavy to start out, but good - not as good as Atwater Block's Vanilla Java porter - the best I've had to date.
Next, I tried their 'Festivus' beer - Seinfeld references aside (although always welcome), this darker Belgian beer with a fruit and nut tinge was excellent. It was served in a massive glass, maybe about 1.5 pints or so.
The restaurant is highly recommended. Food, drinks and neighborhood (Wicker Park) all were excellent.
Here's there spot:
