BOB - Pop Champaign for Barack Campaign
One of the most exciting days politcally and culturally in the national conscious.
A few bullets:
I read a wonderful article about Barack and basketball in S.I. this week called 'The Audacity of Hoops' by Austin Murhpy. Murphy details 'Barry the Bombers' history and relationship with the game, personality overtones seen in the (now!) President's basketball style, the cabinet members relative breadth and depth of skills (plural and highly) and all else basketball in the 44th CEO and administration.
I think O'bama's race and background, half Kansan half African, and being raised primarily in Haiwaii is an unexpected comprimise racially. I think many sub-conscious racists (the one's liberals feared would shy from BOB at the last minute in the ballot box) are more comfortable with a cultural/racial anomaly like BOB, rather than an AFrican-American of the Alex Haley mold. Civil rights has achieved it's long sought after goal - an African-American president. This is just he beginning. As a liberal, I would rather frame today as the first inauguration of a black president rather than the inauguration of the first black president.
Here's a track for the Obama club hoppers:
